Our Mission

To provide our valued students with the necessary tools and skillset to obtain their Canadian Dental Licensing. We do this by offering a combination of theoretical and practical courses that carefully target NDEB exam requirements and standards. Our methodology is built upon years of experience, continuous improvement, and updating of course content to always be one step ahead of the ever-changing NDEB requirements and standards.

You are on your journey to becoming a professional dentist licensed in Canada. NDEB equivalency exam preparation can be stressful and overwhelming for dental students.

There are three NDEB equivalency exams you must pass first. Successful completion of the three exams (AFK, ACS & ACJ) takes you to the next level, the NDEB certification exam.

It is the fastest way for people who want to work in dentistry in Canada to get their certifications from the NDEB. Given that you pass each exam the first time, this process should take 1.5 to 2 years. You must get at least 75% on first two exams (AFK and ACJ) to move on to the next one. You can try each test for a maximum of three times. The last exam ACS can be taken for unlimited times during five years of starting process.

WHAT IS THE NDEB EQUIVALENCY EXAM?

To become a licensed dentist in Canada, you need to go through a process called direct licensing. This process is for dentists who went to non-accredited dental programs. If you haven’t been to a dental school that is accredited, you can show up for this process. First, you have to get your profile approved by the NDEB. This can take anywhere from three to six months. As soon as your profile has been approved, you can take a series of exams;

- AFK: Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge.

- ACJ: Assessment of Clinical Judgment.

- ACS: Assessment of Clinical Skills.

The Canadian National Dental Examining Board gives the licensing exam to international dentists who finish the NDEB equivalency process and Canadian dental students who are qualified.

You have to pass the NDEB certification process, which has two exams;

- The OSCE and

- The written test

HOW TO START NDEB CERTIFICATION EXAM PREPARATION ONLINE

When the exam is done, it usually takes place over two days. If you want to pass it on your first attempt, you need to start preparations now.

The written exam and the Objective Clinical Exam (OSCE) are two parts of the Board exam.

During the written exam, there are 150 multiple choice questions in two books. During the exam, candidates are supposed to show off their knowledge and skills about clinical and behavioral dental science, biomedical dental science, professional behavior, and ethics, as well as their knowledge and skills about professional behavior.

OSCE candidates have to answer match-type questions at each station within a time limit of five minutes. Then, they move on to the next station and answer a new match-type question there, too. In each station, there is information that must be looked at before the question can be answered. It’s possible that candidates at some stations will be asked to come up with a prescription based on information at that station.

The NDEB looks at both of these things together to see if you are competent and capable of practicing dentistry in Canada.

The best way to prepare live or online is to register with Golden Target Training for complete preparation courses and training that gets you ready to pass the NDEB test at once.
